Tesoro consists of six different decks. The top row features Tesoro Copper, Tesoro Silver, and Tesoro Gold — the “ancient metal” series. They have a white background and a design inspired by the “past” of the Tesoro World. The bottom row features Tesoro Emerald, Tesoro Sapphire, and Tesoro Ruby — the “future gemstones” series. They have a black background and represent the future of the Tesoro World, when the cataclysm is imminent.
The boxes are printed on dark, soft-touch premium paper with two foil colors. They are incredibly detailed and very shiny.
The most impressive part of Tesoro is the cards. Each deck is printed with inks and a layer of hot foil on both the front and the back.
Each deck has foil that matches one of the two colors on its tuckbox. There are two different designs and six color variants, making each deck truly unique.
Hot foil is extremely shiny, but also quite tricky. Achieving precise registration and accuracy with this technique is very challenging.
However, Tesoro foil is practically perfect, despite the thin lines used.
The Silver deck is the shiniest — almost like a mirror in direct sunlight!
Every court card has a “past” and a “future” version. This is the Jack of Spades…
